I like to see who I am talking to to see the reactions to jokes and comments made. To see what they are doing and what they like to do. Also, so I can put a face to a name. Makes it more personal to see who you are talking to than to talk to them on the phone. People can hide their true feelings on the phone and not let you see what their responses to you are. When someone don't really like you they can makefaces behind your back and makejokes about you to others standing there listening and not be honest. On webcam, they can't hide from the truth when talking to you and you can see if anyone else is in the room before making a remark you may regret later.
